[origin: WO2014044946A1] A stacking device (1) for stacking flat objects (100) on edge comprising a stacking rack (2) that extends in a certain direction of stacking (D2) in order to store, in a stack on edge, flat objects (100) inserted successively into said stacking rack (2), a stacking actuator (4) for guiding and inserting, in a direction of insertion (D1) transverse to the direction of stacking (D2), each flat object (100) to be stacked at the back of said stack of flat objects (100), said stacking rack (2) being mobile relative to the stacking actuator (4) in the direction of stacking (D2) and said stacking device (1) comprising pulsing means (9) synchronised with the stacking actuator (4) to move the stacking rack (2) in translation by pulses in the direction of stacking (D2) when a flat object (100) is inserted at the back of said stack of flat objects (100). A storage device and a postal sorting machine comprising such a stacking device (1).
