[origin: WO2014048674A1] The invention relates to a device (4) for checking or adjusting a depth of engagement (ET) of a locked elevator door lock (2). The locked elevator door lock (2) has a bolt (6) and a brace (8) which is engaged with the bolt (6). The device (4) can be fixed to the bolt (6) and has a region for supporting (10) the brace (8), or the device (4) can be fixed to the brace (8) and has a region for supporting (12) the bolt (6). The device (4) can be fixed to the bolt (6) or to the brace (8) such that a defined depth of engagement (ET) is formed when the brace (8) or the bolt (6) is resting on the device (4) region (10, 12) designed to support said brace or bolt. The invention also relates to a method for checking or adjusting a depth of engagement (ET) of an elevator door lock (2).
