The subnetworks (SN1, SN2) comprise a plurality of resource processing units. At least a portion of the resource processing units are transforming units (TU) which couple the subnetworks (SN1, SN2) together and transform the resources of one or more subnetworks (SN1, SN2) into one or more other resources of one or more other subnetworks (SN1, SN2), and at least a portion of the resource processing units are resource consumption units and/or resource provision units. At least one agent (PA) is assigned to each of the resource processing units, wherein the agents (PA) are networked together in such a manner that each agent (PA) is able to communicate with other agents (PA) in the network. The network is designed in such a manner that the resources are distributed in the network at least partially on the basis of monetary transactions negotiated between the agents (PA).
