Abstract (en)
An electric oven assembly comprises an oven cavity having walls and a door, insulation material surrounding the cavity one or more electric heating elements that are operable to heat the inside the cavity ; a vent which is in communication with the inside of the cavity through which steam can pass that has been produced inside the cavity at times when the door is closed; and a closure means that controls the passage of steam through the vent, when closed the closure means sealing off the vent to prevent the release of hot air and steam from the cavity and when open the closure means permitting the escape of hot air and steam from the cavity through the vent characterised in that the closure means is adapted to open automatically when the temperature inside the cavity or the vent reaches a first predefined temperature and to close automatically when the temperature drops to a second predefined temperature.
