[origin: WO2014060201A1] The invention relates to a method for operating a gas cooking appliance having a plurality of gas burners, wherein the gas supply to the individual gas burners is regulated by means of an associated gas valve. In the event that a first gas burner is operated at an output below the maximum output of the first gas burner owing to being supplied with a gas supply below a maximum gas supply through the gas valve, the switching on of a second gas burner of the gas cooking appliance, which is connected to the same gas supply line in or for the gas cooking appliance, is detected. To compensate, the gas supply to the first gas burner is rapidly permanently increased in order to prevent the flame becoming smaller as a result of the second gas burner being switched on.
