[origin: CN104858351A] The present invention discloses a blind rivet setting device and a method for setting the blind rivet. The device herein includes: a housing, a pulling means which is arranged inside the housing and has a jam and clamping jaws, the jam being movable along the pulling direction, the clamping jaws being movable for a section of a clamping distance within the jam; an electric driver which is configured and is arranged to apply on the jam and to include a control means, an individual position sensor for the pulling means and a rotation meter; a battery which is configured and is arranged to serve as a power supply for the electric driver; a spring which is configured and is arranged inside the jam so as to apply force to the clamping jaws. For each clamping jaw, the jam includes a guide path which has a path pedestal which is positioned inclindedly relative to the pulling direction, and the back portion of each clamping jaw is supported on a path pedestal thereon within a clamping distance.
