To reduce the structural height of the secondary lens without losses in terms of efficiency, the motor vehicle headlamp includes a cylindrical lens having a cylinder axis disposed in the beam path of the light module between the primary lenses and the secondary lens that is oriented such that it is substantially horizontal.

Um ohne Wirkungsgradverluste die Bauhöhe der Sekundäroptik (18; 36) verringern zu können, wird vorgeschlagen, dass im Strahlengang des Lichtmoduls (7) zwischen den Primäroptiken (12) und der Sekundäroptik (18; 36) eine Zylinderoptik (30; 33) mit einer Zylinderachse (31; 35) angeordnet ist, die im Wesentlichen horizontal ausgerichtet ist.
