[origin: WO2014072456A1] Cored wire (1; 100) intended to be introduced into a bath of molten metal to carry out a metallurgical treatment, the cored wire comprising: a filling (2) extending locally along a longitudinal axis (L), the filling containing at least one active substance for treating the molten metal; and an external wrapper (4) longitudinally around the filling; characterized in that the filling comprises: an extruded rod (8) extending longitudinally and containing the active substance; and an intermediate layer (10) extending longitudinally between the extruded rod and the outer wrapper and containing a powder containing one or more of the following: a metal, a mixture of metals, a metal oxide, a mixture of metal oxides.
