Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2015101632A1] A 3-dimensional spacer fabric that is in particular suited for being used as a decubitus mattress or cushion comprises a knitted top layer, a knitted bottom layer and a spacer structure located there between and holding the two layers at a distance from each other, said spacer structure comprising upright pile yarns extending there between. At least the top layer comprises a multifilament yarn and an elastic yarn. The top layer and/or the bottom layer is formed with band-shaped areas that are devoid of pile yarns extending therefrom through the spacer structure. The elasticity of the top layer is different from the elasticity of the bottom layer.
