[origin: WO2014080122A1] The invention relates to a ballast clearing machine (302) that can remove worn ballast from a railway track and reload new ballast onto said track, said ballast clearing machine comprising a first and a second end, comprising means for removing all or part of the worn ballast and receiving new ballast on the same end. The invention also relates to a ballast renewing train comprising at least one ballast clearing machine (302) that can be coupled by just one of its ends, especially the rear end, to a set (301) of carriages for transporting granular material. The invention further relates to a method for renewing ballast of a portion of a railway track, using the same machine for removing the ballast and unloading ballast onto said portion of railway track.
