[origin: WO2014086891A1] The invention relates to a system for feeding material to a lay-up machine comprising four material drives (1, 2, 3, 4), which each can be loaded with a material roll (5, 6) and can supply material from the respective material roll (5, 6) to a feed of the lay-up machine via a respective strip path. The material drives (1, 2, 3, 4) are arranged in two pairs of two material drives (1 and 2; 3 and 4) each, which are installed on a common retainer (7, 8). The retainers (7, 8) are each driven by a respective driving device in order to position one of the pairs in an active zone of the supply of the lay-up machine and the other pair in a maintenance zone. In the maintenance zone, the material drives of the pair in question are in an inactive state so that access is permitted for employees for reloading, maintenance, or repair work.
