[origin: EP2929996A1] [OBJECT] Turning motion of gypsum slurry spouting onto a sheet of paper for a gypsum board liner is restricted for preventing maldistribution, deviation or irregular dispersion from occuning in the density distribution of the slurry on the sheet of paper. [SOLUTION] A mixing and stirring device (10) for gypsum slurry has a circular casing (20) forming a mixing area, a rotary disc (32) positioned in the casing, and a tubular passage (50,90,95,96,97,97') for feeding the slurry onto the sheet of paper for gypsum board liner (1). A chute has a fluid passage portion (60,61,91,92) with its cross section being non-axisymmetric with respect to a center axis (C,C1) of the tubular passage, or a fluid passage portion (98,99) varying a position of the center axis of the tubular passage by means of change or lateralization of the cross section of fluid passage. An axisymmetric vortex flow generated in the tubular passage as an intratubular swirling flow (F) is broken down at the fluid passage portion, and therefore, its swirling motion, which may possibly result in the ununiformity or instability of the density distribution, substantially disappears in the slurry (3) spouting onto the sheet of paper.
