[origin: WO2014090644A1] The invention relates to a domestic refrigerator (1) having a mechanical control device (21) which is designed to control an operating mode in the domestic refrigerator (1), a manual actuating means (11) which is designed to mechanically actuate the mechanical control device (21), and a display means (12) which is designed to display one current functional state of at least two different functional states of the control device (21) on the basis of the current position of the manual actuating means (11). The display means (12) has a mask (13) which has depictions characterizing the at least two different functional states of the control device (21), and the display means (12) has a highlighting portion (17) which, in each position of the actuating means (11), allows an optical highlighting of the mask (13) depiction assigned to the control device (21) functional state that corresponds to the position of the actuating means (11).
