[origin: JP2015206362A] PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved vacuum pump in which the flow of gas opposite to a pumping direction is as small as possible.SOLUTION: The vacuum pump, in particular a turbo-molecular pump, comprises at least a pumping mechanism for pumping gas along a pump channel 10 extending from a main inlet to an outlet for gas. The pumping mechanism is configured such that a first pump effective portion 136 is provided upstream of a second pump effective portion 138 in the pumping mechanism, and has a higher compression capacity than that of the second pump effective portion 138, and/or such that the second pump effective portion 138 has a higher suction capacity than that of the first pump effective portion 136.

Eine Vakuumpumpe, insbesondere Turbomolekularpumpe, umfasst wenigstens einen Pumpmechanismus (124) zum Pumpen von Gas längs eines von einem Haupteinlass (70) zu einem Auslass für das Gas verlaufenden Pumpkanals (10) und ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Pumpmechanismus derart ausgebildet ist, dass ein erster pumpwirksamer Abschnitt (136) des Pumpmechanismus, der stromaufwärts bezüglich eines zweiten pumpwirksamen Abschnitts (138) des Pumpmechanismus vorgesehen ist, ein höheres Kompressionsvermögen als der zweite pumpwirksame Abschnitt aufweist, und/oder dass der Pumpmechanismus derart ausgebildet ist, dass der zweite pumpwirksame Abschnitt ein höheres Saugvermögen als der erste pumpwirksame Abschnitt aufweist.
