[origin: WO2014108420A2] The invention relates to novel silylated polyaryletherketones containing at least one unit with general structural formula (I) or (II). By incorporating bridging or non-bridging silyl groups into polyaryletherketones, it is possible to define or adjust the melting point or melting range of the polyaryletherketones more exactly than has hitherto been possible. Fine-tuning of the material properties of polyaryletherketones can be achieved in this manner.
