[origin: WO2014108893A1] A holster for a handgun, said holster comprising a holster body comprising a holster cavity configured for securely accommodating and partially embracing portions of a handgun, and an active retention mechanism comprising an arresting latch configured with an arresting portion normally disposed at a retaining position, and an externally disposed release-lever articulated with the arresting latch and configured for deforming the arresting latch between the retaining position wherein it projects laterally inwards from an inside surface of the holster cavity, and a released position wherein the arresting latch is retracted.
