[origin: WO2014167033A2] The invention relates to a metering apparatus for dispensing a liquid medium to be metered, comprising an outlet opening (16) for dispensing the medium to be metered from the metering unit, a movable closing unit (10) for closing and opening the outlet opening, and an actuator (2, 3, 4, 7, 84) for moving the closing unit between positions in which the closing unit closes or opens the outlet opening. The actuator comprises a bellows (4), which is coupled to the closing unit and which is extended or shortened when a pressure difference between the interior and exterior of the bellows is applied by means of a pressure fluid in order to move the closing unit between said positions quickly and with a large stroke. The metering unit is suitable even for relatively highly viscous media to be metered and is largely maintenance-free.
