In known devices of this type, a loss of adhesive frequently occurs and changeover times are long during a change of the web width. If the adhesive is applied by means of rollers, it is additionally the case that high centrifugal forces act on the adhesive which adheres to the roller, which centrifugal forces increase quadratically with the roller rotational speed. As a result, the web speed of the material web (10) and therefore the processing speed are limited. In order to avoid these disadvantages, the device according to the invention is characterized in that the adhesive application device is a nozzle bar (13).
