Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2014125040A1] This invention relates to a loading bay docking system (1) for docking trailers (100) at a loading bay door (29). The loading bay docking system comprises an elongate track (3), a carriage (5) mounted on the track moveable back and forth along the track, a carriage actuating ram (7) for moving the carriage along the track and a controller. The carriage comprises a wheel rest plate (9) for reception of a wheel (102) thereon, a wheel backstop (11) and a wheel chocking member (13). The wheel chocking member is operable to lock or release a wheel on the carriage. The controller operates both the carriage actuating ram and the wheel chocking member. There is further provided a pair of side dock seals (21, 23). These seals are pivotably mounted about a horizontal axis intermediate their ends and/or slidably mounted to allow movement upwards and downwards relative to the loading bay door. The system is safer, more durable, more effective and requires less maintenance.
