[origin: WO2014125195A1] The invention relates to a lightweight weapon system for firing mortar shells and for interfacing with a manhole of a passenger compartment, the weapon system comprising: a mortar tube (2), a collar (3) surrounding the manhole and extending vertically above the manhole, the collar (3) being closed by a hinged trap door (6) and comprising an opening for feeding the mortar tube (2) through the mouth thereof with a shell, a bracket (4) for firmly securing the mortar tube (2) to the collar (3) by a first end and comprising at the second end thereof a pivot connection (4b) secured to the mortar tube (2), the opening (8) leading, toward the outside of the raised frame (3), between the flanges (4a) of the bracket (4) and facing the mouth (2a) of the tube (2) when said tube is horizontal; an on-site means (7) for orienting the mortar tube (2) and an ignition means for triggering the firing of a shell.
