[origin: WO2014125022A1] The invention relates to a method for checking the authenticity of an identification document that has a security feature having depictions that depend on the viewing angle, comprising the steps of recording (601) a first image of the identification document having the security feature with the identification document in a first spatial position and recording (603) a second image of the identification document having the security feature with the identification document in a second spatial position in order to obtain a series of images with the identification document in different spatial positions and comparing (605) image features of the recorded series of images with reference features in order to check the authenticity of the identification document.
