Abstract (en)
A fitting (14) for sealingly and fixedly coupling to a component (12) that includes a body (20) having a first insertion end (26) that defines a first end face (28) and a cavity (30) and wherein the cavity has an interior surface, wherein a first seal (22) is adapted to engage a first component (12) when the first component is inserted through the insertion end and into the cavity, and wherein the seal (22) extends into the cavity from the interior surface of the cavity, the fitting further comprising a band of sealant (16) located about a perimeter of the cavity, wherein the band of sealant (16) is adapted to seal the interior surface and the first component and wherein the body is crimped around the first component to secure the fitting to the first component and seal the interior surface to the first component.
