[origin: GB2522285A] A lighting panel assembly comprises an LED flat lighting panel 2 having a back support panel 4, a front illuminating panel 6, side panels 8, and a plurality of LEDs to provide illumination through the front illuminating panel 6. An emergency lighting pod 20 is conjoined to the back support panel 4. An aperture (10, Fig. 2) is provided in the back support panel 4 to allow illumination from the emergency lighting pod 20 through the front illuminating panel 6 in an emergency. Thus emergency lighting can be provided.
