Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2014127951A1] The invention relates to particulate microcapsule compositions comprising microcapsules and an emulsion polymer which can be obtained by spray drying an aqueous microcapsule dispersion. The microcapsules comprise a capsule core and a polymer as a capsule wall, and the polymer is made of 30 to 90 wt.% of one or more monomers (monomers I) from the group comprising C1C24 alkyl esters of acrylic and/or methacrylic acid, acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, and maleic acid, 10 to 70 wt.% of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers (monomers II), which have two, three, four, or more ethylenically unsaturated groups, and 0 to 40 wt.% of one or more other monomers (monomers III), in each case based on the total weight of the monomers, using an aqueous dispersion of one or more emulsion polymers, which contain 50 to 99.9 wt.% of esters of acrylic and/or methacrylic acid with alkanols and/or styrenes with 1 to 12 C atoms, or 50 to 99,9 wt.% of styrenes and/or butadienes, or 50 to 99.9 wt.% of vinyl chloride and/or vinylidene chloride, or 50 to 99.9 wt.% of vinyl acetate, vinyl propionate, vinyl esters of versatic acid, vinyl esters of long-chain fatty acids, and/or ethylene in the polymerized form, as a spraying agent. The invention also relates to a method for producing the compositions and to the use thereof for producing molded thermoplastic bodies.
