[origin: EP2959819A1] A first aspect of the present invention is relative to a method for operating a washing appliance, such as a washing machine or a combined washer-dryer, comprising a washing chamber (12) to wash goods according to a wash program selected by a user including at least a washing cycle, wherein the method includes adding (110,120) a detergent to a washing liquor (15) which is circulating within the washing chamber (12) during a washing phase of the washing cycle; performing (130) a plurality of measurements (C 1 , C 2 , C 3 ... C n ) of the conductivity of the washing liquor (15) in order to collect a set of conductivity measurements (C 1 , C 2 , C 3 ... C n ); analyzing (150) at least part of the set of conductivity measurements (C 1 , C 2 , C 3 ... C n ) in order to determine if a condition of substantial invariability of the conductivity measurements (C 1 , C 2 , C 3 ...
