[origin: EP2974620A1] A chair (10) comprises a backrest (44), a seat (36), a supporting structure (28) for supporting the backrest (44) and the seat (36), and a base support (12). The supporting structure (28), the seat (36) and the backrest (44) are each pivotably mounted to permit the supporting structure (28), the seat (36) and the backrest (44) to each tilt over a predetermined range. This allows the chair (10) to move into and out of a reclined position. The seat (36) is free to pivot over its predetermined range relative to the supporting structure (28) independently of a tilt of the supporting structure (28). The pivoting backrest (44) and the pivoting seat (36) are intended to encourage dynamic sitting.
