The adjustable support apparatus may be adjusted by an electric motor. An adjustment element is associated with one support part for adjusting the support part (8). The adjustment element is in drive connection with an electric motor of a drive unit (18). The adjustment element is a pivot lever (102) which is pivotable under the traction effect of a pull cable (110) of a Bowden cable, and is configured and connected with the pull cable (110) in such a way that the lever arm which is operative for adjusting the support part (8) lengthens during an adjustment from an unadjusted starting position into a maximally adjusted end position of the adjustment movement.

Eine elektromotorisch verstellbare Stützeinrichtung zur Abstützung einer Polsterung eines Sitz- und/oder Liegemöbels, insbesondere einer Matratze eines Bettes, weist wenigstens zwei relativ zueinander verstellbare Stützteile 6, 8 auf, wobei wenigstens einem Stützteil 8 zum Verstellen desselben ein Verstellorgan zugeordnet ist, das mit einem Elektromotor einer Antriebseinheit 18 in Antriebsverbindung steht. Erfindungsgemäß ist das Verstellorgan ein unter der Zugwirkung eines Zugseiles 110 eines Bowdenzuges verschwenkbarer Schwenkhebel 102, der derart ausgebildet ist und mit dem Zugseil 110 in wirkungsverbindung steht, dass sich der zum Verstellen des Stützteiles 8 wirksame Hebelarm während einer Verstellung aus einer unverstellten Ausgangslage in eine maximal verstellte Endlage der Verstellbewegung verlängert.
