Abstract (en)

Provided is a snap tap forming method which can preventing a leakage of water through between an existing pipe and a regeneration pipe in a method of performing a branching work in a state where the supply of city water is not cut off. In the snap tap forming method, a partition wall 25 which is formed along a curvature of an outer peripheral wall surface of a water pipe 11 is hermetically brought into pressure contact with the outer peripheral wall of the water pipe 11 and is mounted on the outer peripheral wall of the water pipe 11 at a position which corresponds to an inflow opening portion of a gate valve 15 and at which a snap tap of the water pipe 11 is formed, and a center drill guide small hole 26 which is aligned with an axis of the snap tap 14 is formed in a center portion of partition wall 25 by drilling, and in forming the hole in the water pipe 11 by drilling, a center drill 45 of a drilling machine 43 which is inserted into and accommodated in the inside of a water flow sleeve of the gate valve 15 in an advanceable and retractable manner is inserted into the center drill guide small hole 26, and a water diverting port 62 is formed in the partition wall and a peripheral wall of the water pipe 11 using a core drill 46 by advancing the drilling machine 43 while estimating a drilling center and, thereafter, the drilling machine 43 is removed from the inside of a water flow passage 16 in the gate valve 15, and the snap tap is communicably connected to the water diverting port by a snap tap attaching tool 10 provided separately.
