The steps of controlling the stopping of the means (16) for producing a jet of fluid and for controlling the movement of the means (18) for wiping the window (12) automatically follow one another, being offset in time relative to one another by a predetermined time delay, referred to as the fluid activity time delay, allowing a desired activity of the fluid on the window (12).
