Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2014170699A2] When the spear is unscrewed from a pressurised keg the tamper evidence device will break and then the gas in the keg will escape through one of the three alternative escape routes. The three alternative escape routes are via holes in the spear body or grooves in the body or slots in the keg neck. On further unscrewing there is an additional second escape route through a gap between the keg neck and the bottom part of the spear body. The sealing between the keg and spear is achieved by compressing the square seal at one corner until it cannot be compressed any more when the neck and body surfaces eventually touch.
