Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2014174445A1] Apparatus for continuous casting comprising a support structure (11) provided with a containing casing (13) configured to support inside it a mold (12) equipped with a plurality of longitudinal passage channels (31) for the passage of a cooling liquid. The containing casing (13) and the mold (12) together define an introduction chamber (16) and a discharge chamber (17) for the cooling liquid, and the introduction chamber (16) and the discharge chamber (17) are fluidically connected by the passage channels (31). The mold (12) comprises a first tubular element (26) and a second tubular element (27) disposed inside the first tubular element (26). The second tubular element (27) comprises a plurality of plates (28a, 28b, 29a, 29b) each provided with passage channels (31) and connected to each other to define a through casting cavity (30). The first tubular element (26) is provided with connection members (37a, 37b) to connect the passage channels (31) of the plates (28a, 28b, 29a, 29b) respectively with the introduction chamber (16) and with the discharge chamber (17).
