Abstract (en)
System and method for securing a guide bar (110) to a chainsaw body (102). In some embodiments, a chainsaw (150) may include a mounting stud (106), a side cover (114) and the retention member (116). The mounting stud (106) may extend away from a bar mount pad (112) of a chainsaw body (102) and be dimensioned to be received in a slot (108) of a guide bar (110) when the guide bar (110) is mounted to the chainsaw body (102). The side cover (114) may be selectively mountable to the chainsaw body (102) in a closed configuration in which the mounting stud (106) is disposed between the bar mount pad (112) and the side cover (114). The retention member (116) may be coupled to the chainsaw body (102) and positioned to retain the guide bar (110) against the bar mount pad (112) when the mounting stud (106) is received in the slot (108) of the guide bar (110).
