[origin: WO2014180552A1] The invention relates to a coating apparatus (1) for thermal coating, comprising a coating device (2) and comprising a material feeding device (3), wherein the coating device (2) has a spray gun (8) and a spray gun holder (9), wherein the spray gun (8) is connected to the spray gun holder (9), wherein the spray gun (8) can be made to rotate about an axis (A) and/or can be made to move in an axial direction in a functionally effective manner by means of at least one drive means (10, 11) during the coating, wherein a coating material (12) can be applied by the spray gun (8) to an inner surface (6) of a hollow workpiece (5a, 5b). Hollow workpieces (5a, 5b) of various inside diameters can be coated by the spray gun holder (9) being adjustable, wherein the spray gun holder (9) has a pivotable arm (13), wherein the spray gun (8) is arranged on the arm (13), wherein the radial positioning of the spray gun (8) in relation to the axis (A) can be set by pivoting the arm (13), wherein the spray gun holder (9) has a base frame (18) and a slide (19), wherein the base frame (18) can be arranged fixed in place in relation to the workpiece (5a, 5b), wherein the base frame (18) has a guide rail (21), and wherein the slide (19) is arranged such that it can be made to move on the guide rail (21).
