Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2510191A] A frame 101 for a pallet P, having a rear side 102, first and second opposed side walls 103, 104 and an opening 105 between the front edges 106, 107 of the side walls. The side walls are pivotable about axes of rotation 108, 109 between: a pallet receiving condition in which the side walls extend at an angle that is inclined outwardly from the rear 102 of the frame, and a pallet received condition in which the side walls extend at an angle perpendicular to the rear of the frame. When a pallet P is inserted through the opening when in a pallet receiving condition, the pallet pushes, in a closing direction of rotation, the side walls from the pallet receiving condition into the pallet received condition. The side walls may be biased towards the pallet receiving condition, where the gap 110 would be less than the opening 105. In one embodiment, the frame is mountable to a ground base element, allowing the frame to move sideways to accommodate a pallet that may be misaligned upon its entry into the opening 105.
