[origin: WO2014195300A2] The invention relates to a brake actuation system (1) of a hydraulic brake system (100), for actuating at least one front axle brake circuit (2) having at least one front wheel brake (14), and for actuating at least one rear axle brake circuit (3) having at least one rear wheel brake (15), said brake actuation system (1) comprising at least one hand brake module (4) which, when actuated, can activate both brake circuits (2, 3). In order to provide an improved brake actuation system with a plurality of actuation capabilities, which system can also be utilised in light motorcycles and scooters without the restrictions of existing brake actuation systems, while simultaneously offering a simple concept and a reduced cost and weight, according to the invention, the hand brake module (4) is hydraulically coupled into a combined hand brake module (5), said combined hand brake module (5) being designed to simultaneously generate brake pressure in both brake circuits (2, 3).
