Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2014195559A1] A pontoon platform (300) is constructed from at least one container (100) or plurality of interconnected containers (100), such as shipping or standard freight containers, especially consistent with ISO standard. At least some of the containers (100) are adapted to float on water, either they are waterproof containers or they comprise a float arrangement (101a-101f). The intra-container water-displacing volume (101a-101f), such as an inflatable bag, can be used for displacing water from the container (100) when the inflatable bag is filled or letting more water entering into the container (100) when the inflatable bag is emptied, and thereby manipulating the buoyancy or draft of the container (100) and thus also the same of the pontoon platform (300) comprising said container(s) (100).
