Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2014195608A1] The invention relates to a hydraulic shock absorber (2), especially for the suspension of a motor vehicle, comprising: a cylindrical envelope (4) containing a fluid, a piston (6) mounted in a sliding manner in the cylindrical envelope (4) and comprising at least one opening (12) for the fluid, and a hollow rod (8) connected to the piston (6). The shock absorber (2) also comprises end-of-stroke damping means comprising a rotary valve (14) in contact with the piston (6) and suitable for modulating the passage section of the or at least one of the openings (12) thereof, and an indexed rod (10) mounted in a sliding manner in the hollow rod (8) and extending outside the hollow rod, in such a way as to enter into contact with a bottom wall (22) of the cylindrical envelope (4), the indexed rod (10) being rotatably indexed with the hollow rod (8) and the valve (14).
