[origin: WO2014202444A1] The invention relates to a heat-resistant suction device for hot metal plates. A suction device according to the invention for picking up and holding a substantially flat metal object has a suction gripper comprising a suction chamber and a sleeve that surrounds the suction chamber laterally and is elastically deformable in the vertical direction substantially perpendicular to the surface of the object that is to be picked up. The sleeve which is elastically deformable in the vertical direction is made of a metal which is heat-resistant up to at least 1000°C.
