Dargestellt und beschrieben ist eine Einrichtung (50) zur Anordnung eines Kantenschutzmittels (11) an einem Packstück (12), mit wenigstens einem Antriebsrad (52), mittels derer die Einrichtung entlang einer Laufbahn von einem Ausgangsort zum Packstück und vom Packstück zum Ausgangsort verfahrbar ist, mit einem Motor (51), der von der Einrichtung selbst getragen ist und das wenigstens eine Antriebsrad in Bewegung versetzt, mit einer Klemmhalterung, die eine bewegliche Klemmbacke (59) und ein Gegenlager (60) aufweist, um das Kantenschutzmittel in einer Offenstellung der Klemmbacke aufzunehmen und in einer Geschlossenstellung der Klemmbacke zu halten, wobei der Motor zum Antrieb des wenigstens einen Antriebsrades auf zumindest ein Kraftübertragungsmittel (56) wirkt und dieses die Öffnungs- und Schließbewegung der Klemmbacke induziert.
