[origin: WO2014206468A1] The invention relates to a method for checking an angle of rotation of a rotor device in relation to a stator device of an electrical machine operated with alternating current and comprising a plurality of phase windings, wherein a control device for determining phase currents in the phase windings and/or phase voltages between the phase windings is provided, comprising the following steps: a) determining at least one of the phase currents and/or at least one of the phase voltages, b) determining at least one deviation between the determined phase current and a target phase current corresponding thereto and/or between the determined phase voltage and a target phase voltage corresponding thereto, and c) detecting an angle error if one of the deviations lies outside of a tolerance range.
