Abstract (en)

A suitable report is given by a reporting component in a straddle-type vehicle equipped with a reporting component that reports information related to fuel economy to the rider. A controller (60) uses a specific engine speed that is higher than a preset idle speed as a base engine speed (ENB), and includes a time determination component (70) that determines whether or not the elapsed time since the engine speed sensed by an engine speed sensor (451) went over the base engine speed (ENB) has exceeded a preset base time (TB). The controller (60) does not cause a reporting component (62) to give a report if the time determination component (70) has not determined that the base time (BT) has been exceeded, even though the fuel economy has been determined to be good on the basis of intake information sensed by an intake information sensor (484) and the engine speed sensed by the engine speed sensor (451).
