[origin: WO2015004199A1] The invention relates to a method for adjusting an electric heater device (10), including the following steps: a room temperature (Ta) of a space (18) containing the apparatus is measured at four consecutive times (to, t1, t2, t1, t3); the speeds (vi, v2) of temperature variation are compared, during a first interval (to-ti), between the first and second times and, during a second interval (ti-t2), between the second and third times; if the room temperature decreases during the two intervals and if the decrease speed is higher during a second interval, the heat release (C) by the apparatus is then limited to a value (Co) existing before the first time to; the temperature variation speeds (v2, vs) are compared during the second time interval (ti-t2) and a third interval (t2-t3) between the third and fourth times; if the room temperature decreases over the two intervals and if the decrease speed is higher during the third interval, the heat release is further limited to a minimum value (Cmin) that is lower than the value (Co) existing before the first time to. Said method can be used for reducing energy waste by the heating apparatus in the event that a window is opened in the space.
