Abstract (en)
[origin: EP3029086A1] To provide a polycarbonate diol for enhancing the reaction rate at the time of production of a polyurethane by a reaction of the polycarbonate diol with an isocyanate compound and enabling the obtained polyurethane to be improved in the tensile strength, elastic recovery ratio, etc. A dihydroxy compound and a carbonate compound are polymerized by a transesterification reaction in the presence of sugar and/or a derivative thereof to obtain the polycarbonate diol. The content of the sugar and/or derivative thereof is from 0.1 to 80 ppm by weight relative to the total of the sugar and/or derivative thereof and the dihydroxy compound.
