[origin: WO2015018387A1] The invention relates to a knife (10) having a housing (11) in which a blade carrier (12) is movable between a safety position, in which a blade (17) held on the blade carrier (12) is arranged in the housing, and a cutting position, in which the blade (17) projects out of the housing (11), wherein the blade carrier (12) is movable into a blade changing position, in which the blade (17) projects out of the housing (11) with a greater length compared with the cutting position, wherein the knife (10) has an actuating device which comprises a handle (13) by way of which the blade carrier (12) is movable. The particular feature is that the knife (10) has a locking mechanism (16) by means of which the blade carrier (12) is fixable in the blade changing position in an indirectly or directly releasable manner.
