[origin: CN105009505A] A method and a system for generating privacy-preserving recommendations commences by receiving as input a first set of records including tokens and items, from a first set of users; designing and evaluating a first garbled circuit based on matrix factorization on the first set of records and a second garbled circuit based on ridge-regression on a second record, from a requesting user to generate recommendations in a privacy-preserving way about at least one item, such that the records and any information extracted from the records, are kept secret from parties other than their source and the recommendations are only known by the requesting user. The system also includes a Crypto-Service Provider which will design the garbled circuits and a Recommender will will evaluate the first circuit. The requesting user will evaluate the second circuit and may not be included in the first set of users.
