[origin: WO2015024557A1] The invention relates to a motor vehicle door lock which is equipped with at least one actuating lever chain (1, 2). The motor vehicle door lock further comprises a locking unit (3) associated with the actuating lever chain (1, 2) and a securing device (4, 5) as well as a locking mechanism. The securing device (4, 5) disrupts the activating lever chain (1, 2) by means of a mechanical control element (4, 5) when it is in the "on" position in order to activate the locking mechanism. In its "off" position, the securing device (4, 5) closes the activating lever chain (1, 2) mechanically. According to the invention, the control element (4, 5) is designed to additionally emergency-lock the locking unit (3) in its "off" position and when the motor drive (8) is deactivated.
