[origin: WO2015024926A1] The invention relates to a device (1) having an optical apparatus (2), in particular an angled mirror, sighting optics, a periscope or the like, with which the surrounding terrain (5) can be observed from the interior (4) of a vehicle or a building, and an anti-dazzle device (6) for preventing light from escaping from the interior (4) of the vehicle or building. In order to be able to arrange the anti-dazzle device (6) even subsequently on existing optical apparatuses (2) in an easy way and to bring about as quickly as possible automatic or manual interruption of the beam path by the optical apparatus (2), the invention proposes to use, as an anti-dazzle device (6) of the device (1) according to the invention, an LC window (7) which can be switched over by an electrical voltage and control electronics (8) which are connected to the LC window (7) and by means of which the LC window (7) can be switched over from a translucent state into a non-translucent state, and vice versa.
