Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2015036565A2] The invention relates to a sensor for optically detecting marks on a moving material web. The object of the invention is to produce a sensor which can be reliably used for all possible combinations of printing inks and backgrounds, without compromising the achievable accuracy. To achieve this the sensor comprises: a light source for generating a light spot on the moving material web, the intensity of the light spot being controllable by means of a driver; a light receiver for receiving the light reflected back by the light spot; a signal processing unit for evaluating the output signal of the light receiver; and a switching unit for switching between a teach mode, in which the intensity of the light spot is changed by the driver and a detection mode, in which the intensity of the light spot is maintained at a constant level by the driver.
