[origin: GB2517987A] A waveguide, for carrying waves by inductive coupling, comprises a first resonant element 300a, a second resonant element 300b and a coupling section 350a capacitively coupling the first and second resonant elements 300a, 300b. The coupling between the first and second resonant elements 300a, 300b produces a first pass-band, associated with the resonance of the first and second resonant elements 300a, 300b, and a second-pass band, associated with the resonance of the coupling section 350a. The first and second resonant elements 300a, 300b may form first and second major loops respectively, and the coupling section 350a may form a minor loop such that respective portions of each of the first and second major loops is shared with the minor loop. The shared portions may include a capacitor 310. A communication unit comprising an IO resonant element is arranged to transmit and/or receive a signal to/from the first resonant element by inductive coupling.
