[origin: WO2015039937A1] The invention relates to a fuel supply system (12) for an internal combustion engine, comprising a water separator (5), designed as an electrical coalescer (5'), for separating a polar phase, in particular water, from the fuel, said water separator being arranged on or in a component (13) of the fuel supply system (12). The invention further relates to a fuel filter unit (1) comprising a water separator (5) which is designed as an electrical coalescer (5'). According to the invention, a particularly effective separation of water with a constant separation rate can be achieved.
